WALK ON THE CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉE AVENUE

The Avenue des Champs-Élysées, often called “the most beautiful avenue in the world”, and the Arc de Triomphe are a 10-minute drive from our hotel or 5 metro stations (direct route). If you are passing through Paris, take the time to stroll and discover this unmissable Parisian site.

Our hotel near La Défense enjoys an ideal location since it is also close to Porte Maillot, the Stade de France and many major places of the capital, such as the avenue des Champs-Élysées, one of the of the most famous tourist sites in Paris.

Along the approximately 2 km of the avenue des Champs-Élysées, which connects the Arc de Triomphe to the Concorde and its prestigious Obelisk, you can shop in the big names and luxury boutiques, discover splendid buildings or mansions, or simply stroll on the terrace of a restaurant. To discover the avenue in the best conditions, meet on the first Sunday of the month. The avenue is then reserved for pedestrians and cyclists and you can walk there in peace.

If you are in Paris at the right time, also take advantage of the major events taking place “on the Champs”, such as the traditional parade on July 14, the arrival of the last stage of the Tour de France or the kick-off of the splendid Christmas lights.

As you walk, take the time to climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe, the largest arch in the world, located in the heart of Place Charles-de-Gaulle-Etoile. Built at the request of Napoleon in 1806 to celebrate the victory of Austerlitz, 50 meters high, 45 meters long and 22 meters wide, it is one of the emblems of the City of Light.

Inside the Arc de Triomphe, a museum invites you to discover the history of the monument. But do not miss the access to the panoramic terrace. From the top of this prestigious building, you will enjoy a breathtaking 360 ° view of all of Paris which will allow you to admire from above the Champs-Élysées, the Concorde, the Louvre museum, the business district of La Defense, the rooftops of Paris… And if you are planning this visit, a word of advice: don’t forget your camera!
